Accomplishments
14+ years of experience leading complex LAN, WAN, Campus, and Data Center deployments

Deployment of Next-Generation MPLS Network
Led the successful deployment of our next-generation MPLS infrastructure utilizing Nokia routers. I independently delivered the first four metro Ethernet sites using Segment Routing and MP-BGP over an IS-IS underlay. PE and P routers were Nokia-based, with Ciena devices serving as access nodes. Additionally, I collaborated in feature testing and developed comprehensive deployment documentation.

Legacy Multicast Network Migration
Designed and implemented a complete migration of multicast services from deprecated Cisco 7609-based data center infrastructure. At the time, with VXLAN not yet mainstream, I architected a collapsed core enterprise network using a traditional Distribution and Access layer model. The migration was completed on schedule, successfully transitioning multicast traffic using PIM Sparse Mode to the new fabric.

VXLAN Data Center Deployment
Architected and deployed two modern data center fabrics using Arista switches. These fabrics incorporated VXLAN, EVPN, and BGP underlay protocols. I also implemented a Data Center Interconnect (DCI) using a single-domain, multi-hop VXLAN architecture to support seamless workload mobility and vMotion capabilities.

Integration of Acquired Network Infrastructure
Played a key role in the integration of a newly acquired company’s network into our existing architecture. This included extensive documentation, lab testing, and deployment of interconnection strategies. Integrated systems included video services, MPLS backbones, and Layer 3 VPNs. I deployed border routers to interconnect networks during the transition phase.

MPLS Network Capacity Management
Oversaw ongoing capacity planning and upgrades for MPLS networks. Ensured compliance with SLA requirements by proactively managing utilization to remain below 70%. This involved the design and execution of MOPs for link additions, LAG configuration, and traffic rerouting using RSVP-TE to mitigate congestion.

Cisco to Arista Migration
Led multiple successful data center switch migrations from Cisco to Arista platforms. Each project involved meticulous planning, lab validation, configuration translation, and seamless cutovers, ensuring service continuity throughout the process.

Cisco to Juniper Migration
Executed a series of video data center switch migrations from Cisco to Juniper. I was responsible for design, testing, configuration conversion, and deployment, ensuring uninterrupted service during transitions.

Ethernet Internet Access (EIA) Circuit Redundancy
Designed and led the implementation of a redundancy solution for EIA services, which previously suffered from single-threaded architectures. Utilized BGP, BGP-LU, and EVPN protocols to create a resilient framework that ensured service continuity during outages and fiber disruptions.

Broadcast Storm Mitigation in Legacy Networks
Redesigned a legacy Metro-E network vulnerable to frequent broadcast storms. Implemented a robust Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) architecture using MSTP, BPDU Guard, Root Guard, and optimal root bridge placement to eliminate instability and restore network resilience.

Tier 4 Escalation Support
Serve as a Tier 4 escalation point for the NOC’s Advanced Services Engineering team. Routinely called upon to provide expert guidance for complex issues, directly contributing to fast resolutions and preserving high-value customer relationships.

Unified Quality of Service (QoS) Design
Diagnosed and resolved chronic capacity and performance issues in the legacy Metro-E network by introducing a Unified QoS model. Designed, tested, and deployed a scalable QoS strategy across Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Arista platforms to improve overall customer experience
